The Road to Herd Immunity

Brookings County has come a long way since December 11 in the fight against COVID-19. That was the day the first COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer, was granted emergency use authorization (EUA) by the FDA. One week later on Dec. 18, the Moderna vaccine was also granted a EUA and Brookings Health System was administering Pfizer doses to its frontline healthcare team.

This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on Mar. 3 and can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

Community Vaccination Center Now Open to Persons with Approved Underlying Medical Conditions

Following the South Dakota Department of Health’s vaccination plan, today the Brookings County Pandemic Planning and Coordination Committee (PPCC) will open up registration for the Mar. 11 COVID-19 community vaccination center to persons with approved underlying medical conditions under age 65.

Vascular Services Start at Brookings Health’s Outreach Clinic

Dr. Gregory Schultz, M.D., of Sanford Vascular Associates will begin seeing patients at Brookings Health System’s outreach clinic starting on Friday, Feb. 5. He will then be available to see patients the first Friday of each month.
