New quality data on the patient experience recently issued on Hospital Compare, www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov, shows Brookings Health System’s hospital surpasses the national average for all eight dimensions on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. In addition, the hospital meets or exceeds seven out of eight state averages.

Brookings Health System to Pursue WHO and UNICEF’s Baby-Friendly Designation

Brookings Health System announced today the organization has completed Phase 1, Discovery, of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and has begun the process for Phase 2, Development. No other non-Indian Health Services hospital in the state currently has reached the Baby-Friendly Development phase.

New Monthly First Aid Class to be Taught at Brookings Health System

Brookings Health System will begin offering the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid class on the last Tuesday of every month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The first class will be held July 30 in hospital conference room Private Dining. Cost is $40.

Remodel Starts on Outreach Specialty Clinic

Last week Clark Drew Construction began the demolition of Brookview Manor nursing home and started construction to create the new outreach specialty clinic at Brookings Health System.
