For the third consecutive year, the Darnall family of Medary Acres Greenhouses is answering an important emergency call: inspiring others to give to Brookings Health System Foundation. As the matching gift sponsor for the Foundation’s South Dakota Day of Giving campaign, Medary Acres Greenhouse hopes to grow funds that will help purchase a new advanced life support ambulance.
A new study conducted by the Center for Rural Vitality and Community Well-Being at South Dakota State University and commissioned by Brookings Health System demonstrates how the rural community hospital not only provides essential access to care for rural residents, but also drives the local economy.
Brookings Health System is currently accepting applications for newly graduating laboratory and nursing students interested in the Inspiring Health Sponsorship Program.
Brookings Health System has partnered again with the South Dakota Board of Nursing to offer a clinical enrichment program for nursing students. Applications for the paid summer internship are being accepted now until Oct. 31 at brookingshealth.org/CEP.
Children 12 years old and younger are invited to trick-or-treat at The Neighborhoods at Brookview skilled nursing home on Friday, Oct. 31. Doors will open at 3:45 p.m. Trick-or-treating will continue through 5:15 p.m.
To help prepare area Medicare beneficiaries for 2026 open enrollment, Brookings Health System will host four sessions of the free Understanding Medicare seminar.
