Safe@Home Class Prepares Children to Stay Alone at Home
Brookings Health System will again offer Safe@Home by SafeSitter®, a program designed for students in grades 4 to 6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. The 90-minute class will be held on Friday, May 30 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Ambulance Station and Education Center.

Avera Medical Group Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to See Patients at Brookings Health’s Outreach Clinic
Dr. George Ceremuga, M.D., of Avera Medical Group Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation will begin seeing patients at Brookings Health System’s outreach clinic. He will be available to see patients the third Wednesday of each month starting on April 16.
Brookings Health Named Top 20 Rural Community Hospital for Eighth Time
Brookings Health System was again named a Top 20 Rural Community Hospital in the United States by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). The health system ranked 99.9 percent on the winter 2025 Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, the tool used to recognize the Top 20. Brookings Health was the highest scoring rural prospective payment system (PPS) hospital among peer rural and community hospitals across the nation.

Brookings Health Acquires New Cardiovascular Ultrasound System to Diagnose Heart Disease
Brookings Health has invested in a new Philips EPIQ CVx cardiovascular ultrasound system, the same system preferred by regional cardiologists to visualize the heart’s anatomy. The new system, which is designed specifically to diagnose heart disease, allows Brookings Health’s radiology department to take photorealistic echocardiograms, moving ultrasounds that show the heart’s structure and function.
Warne Joins Brookings Health System Foundation Board
Joshua Warne was elected to the Brookings Health System Foundation board of trustees at the December 2024 board meeting. He will serve a two-year term through December 2026.
